(More customer reviews)while this kuhn rikon is certainly pricey compared to other cookers, the quality and elegance is unsurpassed by anything out on the market. i really like the shape of this particular model because it allows me to easily braise and cook whole pork loins or roasts since the opening is flatter and shallower then KR's other models. Kuhn also sells a pyrex glass lid that fits on this cooker so it can be pressed into service as a giant saucepan or skillet, or for bringing food directly to the table in the pot. this cooker is almost always used in our kitchen for meal preparation - can't imagine life without it!

S-9892 pressure cooker gasket seal, fits Mirro. Review

(More customer reviews)I wish I had gotten a new one a long time ago; this new one fits so much better and thus seals so much faster. It is terrific!
You know, after writing that stunning review I've had 3 bad experiences; this new gasket is thinner than the original 1970's gasket, and 3 times it's rolled over when the lid is "screwed-on" and the pressure has forced it's way out the side of the lid, rather than out the top hole, which is scary and could be dangerous. I know the gasket is placed correctly and the lid is on correctly and the pressure hole is open; so it's just an unfortunate thing that this gasket does not fit and now I'm afraid of my pressure cooker with this gasket ...

(More customer reviews)This double burner cooker is functional enough and good value. I use it for homebrewing. The burners produce a strong flame due to high pressure propane. The build of the unit could have been sturdier-It is a bit delicate.
My other double burner is a Camp Chef which costs almost twice as much, but has low pressure burners which are great for cooking. They are not as suited as the Bayou burnes for homebrewing.

It's not something that you can easily mess up. Maybe this seal had been on the shelf a long time before I got it. Anyway. Not very satisfied.

Hawkins Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker Review

(More customer reviews)Indian cooking becomes ridiculously easy with a pressure cooker - especially if you are planning on cooking lentils or beans. Not only do you save time, you also retain nutrients which can otherwise be destroyed when exposed to high heat for long periods of time.
Safety is virtually guaranteed with Hawkins' foolproof design - if the lid is not closed properly, the cooker just won't attain full pressure and so won't become dangerous; if there is even a little pressure remaining, the lid just won't be forced open. And if - this happened to me once - you put in too little water by mistake and the cooker boils dry, you are still okay thanks to a safety valve ingeniously placed just under the bar on the lid - so that when it opens up, the heat gets deflected away from you.
I have only used aluminum cookers, but the stainless steel ones are great too - if a little more expensive. Worth it if you want to avoid stains that can sometimes be a problem with aluminum cookers. I have three cookers in 2, 3.5 and 4.5 litre sizes. 2L is ideal if you're living alone and the 3.5 is just right for a two person family. I use the 4.5 when I cook for guests. I will still buy the 5L because it really is the most convenient size for an average family.
My only grouse with buying these cookers online is that you don't get accessories or replacement parts as easily as you can in Indian stores. After I blew out the safety valve in my 2L, I'm waiting for my next trip to India to get the lid fixed. Also, the 5L (and above) sizes become much more useful when you can use them with accessories like inserts - for multilevel cooking inside the cooker (cook two dishes in one go) and steamers - (for rice cakes etc.)
Bottom line - if you are planning on cooking Indian dishes, invest in a pressure cooker. Its versatile enough to cook pulses, vegetables and meats and will last you a lifetime!

(More customer reviews)Well made. I did not research this enough. I thought all pressure cookers were 15 psi. Note that this one is only 11.6 psi. It is not discussed in the description, but can be found else where. Other high quality mainly European pressure cookers are also 11.6 psi (80 Kpa). It will be ~10 degrees F cooler and will require most published recipes to be altered.

All-American 41-1/2-Quart Pressure Cooker/Canner Review

(More customer reviews)First off, Very fast shipping. Ordered on Saturday and recieved on Tuesday. We do a fair bit of canning. About 200+ pints/quarts per year. This canner is an absolute piece of craftsmanship. Very heavy and well built with an impeccable finish. The wire racks could use a few more rings for smaller pints and half pints but it is not a major issue. Great capacity which will make our canning much faster and easier. The heavy cast aluminum makes maintaining an even temperature very easy and I find I can use less gas to maintain the desired pressure compared to our old pressure canner. Very accurate weight and gauge makes getting the proper pressure a breeze. If properly cared for and maintained I can see this canner lasting generations. Expensive but definitely worth it for the serious home canner. Recommend highly.

Pressure cooker gasket seal. Fits Mirro & Maitres 6 & 8QT. Review

I just wish that they use the nicer while / clear silica material instead of the matt black one. I bought two just in case I need to replace it down the road and to save on shipping.
