(More customer reviews)I purchased this sealing ring for my parents who have owned he same WMF pressure cooker for over 30 years. They had not changed the ring on it for almost 5 years and were still using the cooker on a weekly basis. They were going to wait til their next trip to Germany to get a replacement ring because they thought that's the only place they could get one. I decided to take a chance and do a Amazon search for it since they really needed a new ring because the pressure cooker was starting to leak. I was amazed that they had it but was a little skeptical that it would fit their pressure cooker since it was sooo old. I decided to purchase it anyways since it was only $10. Shipping was quick and it fit the cooker perfectly. Thank you amazon for saving my parents a trip to Germany and now they can change the ring more often.

(More customer reviews)They weren't cheap, but they ARE a bargain. We're still learning, but using a pressure cooker has saved us lots of time and effort, while delivering delicious food. Even when we don't use the pressure to do our cooking, these have become favorite cooking pans. The stainless is very high quality, and they cook evenly. Also, we feel that buying the set with two sizes of pan and both the pressure and regular lids was a very smart move.

(More customer reviews)Bought two of these beauties, and couldn't be more pleased. I'm thinking about throwing away most of my other pots and pans. They seem to be well made, and are loaded with safety features: locking handle when under pressure, pressure relief valves, and a little window that the gasket covers which acts as a fail safe if the pressure gets too high. I think these are the greatest things since remote control for the TV! The kids say the pressure cookers make the best food they have ever had! I tell them it is really the cook. Forget the knife, roasts are so tender all you need is a fork. They work great on my indoor flat top electric range and my outdoor gas range. One negative - they aren't supposed to be stored with the lid in place. Apparently it is not good for the gasket. This is probably true for all pressure cookers that have a gasket. Forget the cookers with gauges, the weight is worth its weight in gold - well maybe silver. Enjoy!

Aroma ARC-1000 Professional Series 10-Cup Sensor Logic Rice Cooker Review

(More customer reviews)I picked this cooker up from Costco for under thirty bucks. If you don't want to spend a lot on a computerized rice cooker, this is the one for you. It's the cheapest fuzzy logic rice cooker on the market, but still makes great rice. It doesn't have a bunch of extra functions you'd never use, just white rice, brown rice, quick rice, and steam cook.
You have to play around a little with the amount of water when cooking the rice. If it's too dry, just add a little bit more water and leave it in keep warm mode for about 15 minutes. If you're planning on using keep warm mode, you also have to add a bit more water to keep the rice from burning to the bottom.
I've used mine for everything from steaming veggies to making steel cut oats. One thing I particularly like is that when you set the timer for steaming, it doesn't start counting down until the water is actually boiling.
The only thing I'd like better was if there were extra internal bowls available. I had originally bought this one thinking to use it until I got a more expensive rice cooker, but that purchase has been put on hold indefinitely simply because this one works so well.
To make steel cut oats, I use the brown rice function due to the long soaking time. Just add 4 cups water to every 1 cup of oats. Also add pat of butter or a bit of oil to the water to keep it from boiling over, and a pinch of salt. You can add raisins or other dried fruit if you like. I usually make a double batch, and it comes out perfect every time. Perfectly cooked with that unique chewy steel cut oat texture. No more soaking and making it on the stove for me.

Tefal SS-791991 Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring Review

The replacement ring, though I did order according to the model number, did NOT seal the pressure cooker when I was using it to cook corn.... family party, unfortunately. I returned the unopened ring (I bought 2), as per instructions from the vender. Though I had prompt response, I was forced to eat the $6.98 S&H, plus the $3.00 it cost me to send the unopened product back. Upon trying again to use my pressure cooker with the new gasket I had retained (I am an optomist by nature), it worked perfectly. I wonder if somehow the first cooking process softened the gasket and made it fit better. I wrote to the company and told them about my experience. So, if you do order this gasket, just be warned: It may not work the first time, but try, try again.

I bought this pressure cooker about 2 weeks ago. I used it one time and when I went to wash it I noticed that there was a double metal plate on the bottom. (NOT a solid bottom) Unfortunately on mine this double 'plate' was separating just a fraction (about 1/8 of an inch) on one side only. I knew this couldnt' be good as with cooking and the heat constantly on the bottom, the plate would continue to separate over time. So I returned it to amazon. Hope they take it back.
Just a heads up. Now I am looking at Presto as they seem to have a solid bottom on their cookers.
This Manttra was made in China. Probably they all are but I do not like the design of a second plate on the bottom of the pot. Check yours when you get it.

(More customer reviews)The Magefesa was highly recommended by a friend, who has owned one for over 20 years. Mine would not come up to pressure. As soon as it reached the boiling point, steam came out of the "safety" valve with so much force it threatened to put out my gas flame. I returned the unit for a replacement, and the second one did the same thing.
I contacted Magefesa customer support. They were very helpful, guiding me through disassembly and reassembly of all the possible problem points. Everything seemed fine to them, and the representative was at a loss to explain what was wrong. He said I appeared to be doing everything correctly. (It's so simple to use, it's hard to imagine what one could do wrong.) He said I could send it to him and he would try it himself, but that would have cost over $13 out of my pocket, so I have returned the unit for a refund.
I can only imagine that there was a bad production run on this model and that some defect is causing the problem. This is a reputable company with lots of good reviews, but I got two that didn't work, so I have decided to try a different brand.

(More customer reviews)This is a well made product and a good idea ! The popup handle snugs down with a push so you can put a lid on the pot, then releases back up at a touch so you can lift the steamer without getting your fingers burnt.
The legs are solid, not the flimsy folding type. The basket is extra large, which means it can steam a whole lot in even big 8-qt stew pots, but it doesn't fit in a small 2-qt pot.

HAWKINS STAINLESS STEEL 4 LITERS PRESSURE COOKER Review

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these after seeing a friend use his all the time. He grew up in India, where these cookers are made. I researched the sizes and got the 4-liter one even though I thought it would be one too large for most of my needs. (The smaller ones are aluminum). The stainless one has a very heavy bottom, which makes it great to fry onions and tomatoes up before adding other ingredients and putting on the pressure. Also it makes a great heavy stainless pot even if you do not need to pressure cook. It ended up to be a great size for making soup, stews and meals for two to four (depending on meal). You cannot fill these cookers to the top, so get a bigger size than you would in other pots. The pressure cooker is such a great way to cook beans and rice dishes fast. Very economical in saving fuel and energy, and the results are great. There is an Indian cookbook and instructions included in case you have not used one before.

Cuisinox Deluxe® 7.0 lt Pressure Cooker Review

Very good quality base and cladding - similar to other Cuisinox pans - excellent even heat distribution with no hotspots.
Came up to pressure quickly and super-easy to hold pressure - almost effortlessly compared to older manual "rocker" style cookers that you had to futz with the heat every couple minutes.
Has an excellent "at pressure" visual indicator and "over pressure" bright red indicator, and good redundant safety features.
Also doesn't seem to spit and make as much mess as some other style cookers; and also the lid closes effortlessly - some styles are extremely hard to close and lock the lid but this has an ingenious clamping mechanism that you can open/close with 2 fingers and no effort.
Rice in 4 minutes.. braised lamb shank in 40... tasted like it was slow cooked for hours.
The ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it didn't come with a trivet of any type to hold certain products off the botton of the cooker.

Sunpentown SC-886 3-Cup Stainless-Steel Rice Cooker and Steamer Review

(More customer reviews)We enjoy white rice each and every day for as long as I can remember and we have waited a long time for an 3-4 cup rice cooker that utilized a non-coated stainless inner steam pot. For the past two years Sunpentown's competitor's 8 cup stainless cooker has been our mainstay and though it has been a nice unit it was always an effort to clean the stainless pot and learned that soaking it with soapy water for 30 minutes was very helpful, but still two of us didn't require such a large cooker. By chance I happened to hear of the Sunpentown 3 cup rice cooker at a reasonable price and maintained it included a stainless steel inner cooking pot. I ordered one from Amazon and was so dissapointed after reading the opinion/review that the inner pot was or could be coated with some type of non-stick coating so I e-mailed Sunpentown asking if this was or wasn't true. Within an hour I received a cordial letter informing me that all of the inner cooking components were indeed stainless steel and were never coated with any PTFE or other non-stick coating. After receiving the cooker we enjoyed 3 cups of great tasting rice and because the pot sits in 1 cup of water the extreme temperature to the bottom of the inner pot is minimized and the rice is cooked evenly. We still soak the cooking pot for a short time but it is not necessary and cleaning is very easy. Thank you Sunpentown for developing exactly the right rice cooker this family wanted.
